Laser Dentistry Technology

Here at Blacks Fork Dental, we use laser technology for several procedures. Each laser procedure is quicker, less painful, and easy to recover from. The lasers we use have a variety of functions. The Pioneer Probe is one laser specifically help with the following procedures.

Gum Contouring: When your gums cover too much of your tooth, we can easily use a laser to cut off some of your gums. Gum contouring is a cosmetic procedure to make your teeth look longer and brighter. Our diode laser works to give you a clean cut and help you feel confident in your smile again.

Gingivectomy: We perform a gingivectomy to stop the progression of gum disease or help with overgrown gums. Again, this seamless procedure cuts off the excess or infected gum. The use of the laser leads to a quick recovery.

Biopsy: We also use lasers for oral biopsies. A biopsy removes tissue or gum to send it to a lab for further examination. This can help determine a disease, infection, or abnormal growth in your mouth. The laser helps with easy and painless removal of the tissue.

Cold Sores: Cold sores are viral infections aggravated by stress or hormone imbalance. We can treat cold sores with a laser to remove them in less than two days. If you have a cold sore, please see us right away. The laser destroys the virus and stops it from spreading.
